Lake Titicaca

Nearly everyone that visits Peru makes a stop at Lake Titicaca.  However, most people know little about the world’s highest navigable lake until they finally visit it.  People may come for bragging rights, but they soon find it makes the top travel blogs list of must see sites in South America.  It is the power of the culture on this enormous lake that makes it so special.  Each island is home to a different indigenous culture each with its own set of values and ideals.  From the touristy Uros reed islands all the way to the more off the beaten track Amantani Island there is just such a wealth of culture concentrated in one little area.  Lake Titcaca has a magic to it that sweeps visitors away each and every time.
